Statements of Faith
God
We believe that God is eternal and the creator of all things. (Isaiah 44:24) He had a salvation plan in place through his one and only Son before the world began. (1 Peter 1:20)
Jesus
We believe that Jesus is eternal, was born of a virgin, walked the earth as fully God and fully man, and lived a sinless life. (John 1:1-2, Matt 1:23, Phil 2:7, Col 2:9, 2 Cor 5:21) He was crucified on a cross, buried for three days and raised through the resurrection power of the Holy Spirit. It is through Jesus’ defeat of death, hell, and the grave which enables us to come back into the fullness of relationship with the Father through the
forgiveness of sins. (Rom 4:24-25)
Sin
We believe that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. (Rom 3:23) It is only through the grace of God, the repentance of sins, and a life laid down in surrender to the Lordship of Jesus Christ that one is now born of a heavenly seed becoming sons and daughters with an inheritance in Christ. (1 John 1:9, Eph 2:8-9, 1 Pet 1:23)
Ascension
We believe Jesus ascended into heaven, sat at the right hand of the Father, and will be returning one day to receive his bride. (Luke 24:50-51, 1 Peter 3:22, Rev 19:7)
Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is eternal and is the third member of the Trinity. (Heb 9:14) The Holy Spirit dwells in every believer upon receiving Christ as Lord and Savior. (Eph 1:13) The baptism of the Holy Spirit upon believers is a second pouring out and is evident through the manifestation of tongues or other gifts. (Acts 1:5, Acts 2:1-13)
Trinity
We believe there is one God, eternally existing in three Persons—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory. (Matt 28:19, John 5:23, Eph 4:4-6)
The Church
We believe that God has a covenant with Israel and His promises to Israel will be fulfilled. We also believe that the Church is an elect people in accordance with the New Covenant comprising of both Jews and Gentiles who acknowledge Jesus as Messiah and Redeemer. (Gen 17:4-8, Jer 31:31-34, Heb 8:6-12, Rom 1:16)
Authority
We believe that the victory of Jesus and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit gives disciples of Christ the authority and power to declare healing, deliverance, and freedom, and to release the Kingdom of God here on earth in the same way seen in Scripture. (Luke 10:19, John 14:12, 1 Cor 15:57)
Water Baptism
We believe that water baptisms are for all who profess in Christ as Lord and Savior and is an immersion experience in which the old man dies, is buried, and is resurrected with Christ. (Rom 6:3-4)
Discipleship
We believe that being a disciple of Christ means dying to one’s own will and agendas and submitting to the authority of the Holy Spirit and God’s Holy Word both written and revealed. (Matthew 16:24) It is a life lived set apart with increasing growth in holiness and the reverential fear of God while separating from the corruption, values, and ethics of this world. (Eph 4:23-24, 1 Thess 3:12-13, 2 Cor 3:18, Rom 12:2, John 17:14)
Word of God
We believe that the Word of God is infallible and God-breathed and is the solid foundation on which we stand. It is our daily bread and is meant to be partaken of for growth and nourishment as disciples. (2 Tim 3:16, Matt 4:4, Psalm 119)
Communion
We believe in Holy communion for disciples of Christ. We believe this is more than a symbolic act of remembering Jesus’ death, but also is a release of grace or judgment on those who partake. (Mark 14:22-25, Luke 22:18-20, 1 Cor 11:23-30)
The Great Commission
We believe, as disciples, we carry on Jesus’ mission to proclaim the good news to the poor, proclaim freedom to the captives, healing to the sick and hurting, and deliverance to the oppressed. (Luke 4:18, Matt 28:16-20, John 20:21)
Eternity
We believe that those who truly know him as Lord and Savior, the only true God, will enjoy eternal life. (John 17:3)
